Heart Art Communication is a non-profit organization that
aims to strengthen the tie between art and the society.
Heart Art Communication is founded in 1997 by Professor
Shinichiro Kurimoto (former member of the House of Representatives), Mr.
Masami Fujisawa (Executive President of Yubido Inc.), and two of Japan’s
most respectable art critics (Kyohei Minakami and Yoshie Yoshida), supported
by member artists and other cooperation companies and institutions. It
was formed to deal with themes such as “AIDS Charity” and “Cultural Exchange”-
make a contribution toward society through miracle of fine arts.
1.Proceed the exchanges among artists from all genres
without
pursuing the profit, establish the wide understanding and knowledge
of Japanese art.
2. Dealing with various social problems, contribute
to the society
through miracle of fine arts.
We have been held intercultural art exhibitions of
over 200 art works in cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Sevilla, Rome,
Rothenburg, Beijing, Seoul, Rotterdam, Mexico City, Perth, Reading in
England and Vienna. Most of the times when there are enough cooperating
artists, we make donations to the hosting cities. Actual donations have
been made to the city of Rome, Rothenburg, and to the Red Cross in Beijing,
as well as art schools in Los Angeles, Seoul and kindergarten in Vienna.
We often ask artists of the hosting cities to participate with us in making
the collaborating exhibition to respecting and understanding two different
cultures. We were fortunate to actually experience this in Los Angeles
and Rome with students, and in Rothenburg, Seoul and England with professionals.
In Japan, Heart Art Communication has been continuously hosting “AIDS
Charity Exhibition” in cities through out Japan. This is held annually
supported by Japanese Ministry of Health and Welfare, Japanese Foundation
for AIDS Prevention and other cooperating companies and organizations.
Every time during the exhibition, we choose about 100 arts and crafts
out of 400, to host “Best Selection from the AIDS Charity Exhibition”
at NHK (a government owned broadcasting company) Park Gallery in Tokyo
etc., as part of World AIDS Day’s special event. Instead of asking an
admission fee, we set a donation box at the reception and ask visitors
to raise contribution toward AIDS Charity.
